The LALS minor had a major impact on my time at PC, and it helped me become better prepared for my time after graduation. Not only did I learn about Latin American history, religion, culture, and more, I refined skills of inquiry, communication, and expression.
The LALS capstone was my favorite course as Fr. David and I tailored it with my future in mind. Through this, I was able to make clear connections between the LALS content and my future career as a teacher. This made the information I was studying much more relevant and applicable to real world scenarios.
Thanks to the LALS minor, I feel prepared to teach students from diverse backgrounds. I credit the minor with my acceptance into Boston College’s UCTC program, where I will pursue a master’s degree in Education in Curriculum and Instruction, while teaching at a Catholic high school in Massachusetts that serves a majority Latino community.
